How do we make our students feel seen and empowered that they are capable? By showcasing excellent student work. The other night we had our first exhibit for the year with the 4th- 6th graders. The highlight is hearing from the teachers who I mentored how proud their students felt to have their parents see the hard work they did. A mom of a 4th grader told me how her child explained to his therapist that he had to run because he had to get ready to present at his exhibit. My favorite comment was from a parent who said- “the students’ work was so good it felt like the type of exhibit you have to pay to attend.”
